Welding Rodeo - "Son of a Bench"

Team "Glacial Speed" competes yet another year at Bellignham Technical Collage's "Welding Rodeo".. This Time we took 1 st place!!

"Logical 1" captured the 8 hour event here:

Team - "Glacial Speed" participated yet again along w/10 other teams from across Washington State to compete in an 8 Hour Competition to build an entire sculpture from scrap metal!

Metal Fire Place Hearth

Rustic Steel Hearth Remodel. Made from mild steel plate and treated S/S screws. The Hearth plate is a recycled piece (3/8" thick!) the client picked out her self from Island Recycle.

Steel Handrail

Fun handrail made from new and old steel rod. Some of the handrail itself is from the old Langley water tank.

Heavy Rustic steel House signage cut by hand (Somewhat) with plasma torch.

Hot Rod Go Kart

New custom "Go Kart" built from electrical conduit a good friend gave me.
Another good friend traded me the motor (Honda 5.5 hp) for some metal and I rescued it from the bushes. The basic hardware I bought on line (Sprockets, Bearings and such). I found the rear wheels at Island Recycling. The most help was from "Affordable Go Karts.com"! They sell and support all kinds of crazy hot rod parts, thanks!

Metal "Ship Plate" Retaining Wall

Heavy Steel plate wall approx 14 feet long made from recycled plate and hand forged rivets.
